Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. ("CIMC SOE") has successfully shipped the first two sets (T179, T180) of its 6,800-cubic-meter stacked bi-lobe fuel tanks from the east yard. These units are part of a 10-vessel series built for Zhoushan Changhong International Shipbuilding & Engineering Co., Ltd. ("Changhong International").

Lifting operation for Project T180

The fuel tanks will be installed aboard 10,300 TEU container vessels constructed by Changhong International for global shipping leader Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), supporting greener and more efficient operations for large-scale vessels. The project team comprises core members from Changhong International's previous 7,500m³ fuel tank project. Their established working relationships and seamless collaboration enabled the synchronized completion and delivery of these first two tank sets—marking a crucial step into the series' batch delivery phase.

The remaining eight tank sets are now in full-scale production and progressing according to schedule. All units are expected to be delivered to Changhong International by 2026, supporting the timely commissioning of MSC's new container vessel series.
