Crafting hearts, beading joy — CIMC SOE's Qixi Youth Mixer concluded successfully
2026-08-19

On August 19, the Qixi Festival, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "the Company") Labor Union, together with the Yinyang Town Women's Federation, held a Qixi-themed youth mixer. The event brought together single young employees from various departments of the Company, as well as professionals from healthcare, education, public institutions, and other sectors invited by the Town Women's Federation. They gathered in a relaxed and uplifting atmosphere to celebrate this special occasion.

The event featured a creative twist — perler bead crafting — as the main activity, creating an immersive, low-pressure social setting. In advance, the Labor Union carefully prepared a selection of romantic couple-themed perler bead patterns to inspire participants and help capture the unique romance of Qixi through this hands-on craft. The venue was warmly decorated, filled with the festive spirit of the festival, and attendees checked in and took their seats in an orderly manner.

The event kicked off with fun ice-breaking games led by the host. The simple yet lively interactions quickly dissolved the initial awkwardness, and the atmosphere soon became vibrant and cheerful. Everyone eagerly joined in, laughter filling the room, helping to ease nerves and set the stage for the collaborative crafting session that followed.

Next came the immersive perler bead activity. Colorful beads of various sizes were laid out on the tables, and participants let their imaginations run wild. Some followed the provided couple-themed patterns, while others adapted them to their own tastes, selecting colors and carefully arranging the beads. Some worked independently on cute cartoon designs, while others brainstormed together and divided tasks to complete their pieces. When encountering challenges, they helped each other out with tips and advice, all while casually chatting about hobbies, daily life, and work. The relaxed conversations brought people closer, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the room.

After the crafting session, everyone enjoyed dinner together. Over a shared meal, the event transitioned into a free-flowing social hour. Participants mingled freely, and those with shared interests exchanged contact information, hoping to build on their new friendships. Many expressed that this relaxed format allowed them to enjoy a fun craft while meeting new friends from different industries — a truly rewarding experience.

This Qixi mixer provided a safe, comfortable platform for single young people to expand their social circles beyond their usual networks and connect with like-minded peers. Moving forward, the Company's Labor Union will continue to focus on the cultural and emotional needs of young employees, planning more innovative and engaging events to enhance their sense of fulfillment, belonging, and happiness.
